I would like to encourage everyone to make their own User Pages. When I search through the list of Active Users, I find it hard to tell who is really helping or not. So please make a user page to clear up the confusion. Thanks -Count Caterpie 20:43, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

I hope you don't mind the image I added.....

[edit] Lack of Editors

Count Caterpie - "Welcome.....To The Star Carnival":

I think that the title explains itself, we have like 7 or 8 actual editors, none of which show up that much. There seems to be a large gap between edits, sometimes days. I would like to encourage everyone to invite others to join the Wiki

Well, I'm always around, in the background. But, as you should know if you read my userpage , you are welcome by the way, I haven't played a single Mario Party game in my life, so I can't help with more then minor edits or stuff I can copy from wikipedia. I don't know anyone who plays Mario Party either. Just keep editing and eventually people will edit.

Uhhhhhh I own Eight Mario Party games......... Zmario 09:41, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

I try.--BigCubby 15:31, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Congrats to all for reaching 200 articles! Keep up the good work

[edit] Question about Featured Articles

So how are featured articles chosen? And is it monthly? Weekly? (obviously not) or is it just random? --BigCubby 16:13, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

I was quite honestly thinking about this the other day. We don't have an actual criteria: I just pick articles that I deem worthy. We have a suggestion topic in the forum. But as you said, we need a real criteria.

I didn't know we had a forum...--BigCubby 18:39, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

In Community on the sidebar. Third one down.

I think that we should worry about making the articles better rather then picking featured ones because all of them are kind of weak...--BigCubby 19:16, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Some of the articles on this wiki are not that bad so far. There are quite a few articles on here that have the potential to be featured .I have tried expanding, wikifying, and even fixing up some articles. The only problem is that I keep finding articles that have "Only in Mario Party 5!" or "They will win ____ from ____!" -- TheMagnumMaster 19:20, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

That'd be Yoshi19k's fault. I keep asking him not to make things sound like advertisements.

Yeah, I noticed he has been getting a little carried away with that. He just needs to take time and proofread his articles and learn that second person and personal sentences like "Only in Mario Party 5!" or "You will win 10 coins!" don't belong in wiki articles. My only other problem with some articles on this wiki is that there are more pictures that text in certain articles (that are not galleres). Scoreboard is a good example. I don't know if Yoshi9K is the one doing this, but it messes up the balance of the articles. Overall, I see this wiki has improved a little bit and has a handful of quality articles. I think that some articles need a major clean-up though. -- TheMagnumMaster 05:39, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Yes. We are really starting to improve this year. Yes, Scoreboard and Announcer need a lot of work. And I don't think announcer should be an article. As I pointed out on the talk page.. which nobody reads. I agree with the 'no You' thing. As you can see in the SItenote.

Yes, this wiki has improved a lot so far this year. One problem though is the lack of editors on this site (which is nobody's fault), kind of makes the clean-up and building up on articles slow. The other problem, as you mentioned, is all the articles with the "yous" and advertising sentences in them need to be cleaned up. I have been trying to divide my time between the character, board maps, items, and mini-game pages. Obviously, the mini-games articles will take a while to finish as almost all Mario Party games have bout 70 of them. I am pretty sure this wiki will become more active once it is organized and more content is added. :) -- TheMagnumMaster 06:09, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

I have a theory that if we have a bunch of articles (stub or not) and new people coming in see that we are actually doing something then they might stay. I don't want to join a wiki that has barely any articles. So what I am trying to say is I think we should make small articles for the many things to improve our count and if we improve our count I am GUESSING that more people will come. But this is all in theory...--BigCubby 19:01, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Not necessarily, people come if they are interested in the topic. Thus Zeldapedia > Mario Party Wiki. If we improve our content then people will simply think better of us. - Count Caterpie 01:08, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

I agree with Count Caterpie -- the articles on here definitely need more content. It wouldn't be a bad idea to create more articles per se, but if you have a lot of stub and useless articles, then that will just turn a person away from this wiki. As mentioned earlier, the articles on this wiki have improved in some ways like more content added to certain pages and some pages getting a clean up. However, we still have that second person problem and the random lines in certain articles. There are also those articles that have TONS of images with little content. As mentioned earlier, I have been spreading my time between mini-games, items, and boards so that none of those sections are bare. However, I noticed that a lot of articles could use images. I am not fond using images in other wikis unless it is necessary. I will be home from college this weekend and I am going to take my own snapshots of Mario Party 5. I am sure this wiki will improve by the spring time -- it is going to take a lot of patience and cooperation to get that to work though. -- TheMagnumMaster 04:57, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Bingo! We don't want a lot of empty stubs. That's why I proposed we merge all the Gaddgets Pages into one article (Please Discuss on Talk:Gaddgets. Thanks for you offer TMM. - Count Caterpie 02:57, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] We should make a minigametable that...

Shows the controls of the minigame. Like what A does and stuff like that. I would do it myself but I don't know how to do that kind of stuff.--BigCubby 18:43, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

I don't think so. The less we can put in the template and the more we can put in the article the better.

[edit] A Goal Perhaps

Count Caterpie - "Welcome.....To The Star Carnival":
TALK - {{{time}}}
As you may or may not know, Mario Party Wiki is only ten months old and Our birthday month (May)is coming up soon. How should we celebrate? My idea is this: Five Hundred Articles by May 31st. Anybody want to see if we can try it? 120 more articles in 3 months? And not just stubs.. real articles.
That's certainly possible. I try to make at least three articles a day when I am not busy. That goal is not unrealistic to be honest. -- TheMagnumMaster 19:50, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Just saying, but we have 70 articles left and 2 months to do it. Im not encouraging stubs. But let's try. - Count Caterpie 00:34, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Missing Favicon?

TALK - {{{time}}}
For the past couple of months, I've noticed that our URL Favicon is missing. I've been working to try to get it back, but I want to know something first. Is it missing for everyone? or is it just my server?
